Emilio De Stefano announced finalist in the 2017 SA Science Excellence Awards
De Stefano & Co Director & Principal Emilio De Stefano has been announced one of three finalists in the South Australian Government’s 2017 Science Excellence Awards in the category of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) Professional. More than 70 entries were received across the six categories with finalists ranging from recent PhD graduates and researchers, innovators, STEM professionals and educators. The SA Science Excellence Awards recognise and reward South Australia's top scientists, researchers and educators who have made a significant contribution in their field of research and continue to inspire future generations to become involved in science, technology, engineering and maths.
Chief Scientist for South Australia Dr Leanna Read said “this year we had the highest number of applications in the history of the South Australian Science Excellence Awards with 71 nominations. The competition this year is very strong, but the calibre of finalists demonstrates the rich pool of talent we have here in South Australia.”
In response to being recognised as a finalist, Emilio De Stefano stated “it's an honour to be recognised as a finalist in the SA Science Excellence Awards, especially amongst such a high calibre group of people. I’m really looking forward to the gala dinner where the vital work of so many great South Australian science, technology, engineering and mathematics professionals and teachers will be celebrated”.
Winners will be announced and celebrated at the gala dinner held on Friday 11th August 2017 at the Adelaide Convention Centre. The SA Science Excellence Awards is the premier event in South Australia’s science and research calendar attracting over 300 guests from the university and research sector and industry.
