About the role:

 

The primary role of the Security Advisor is to support the Head of Protective Security Services in delivering exceptional security solutions to defence industry. The Security Adviser will work with clients on a daily basis who are aspiring to become Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) members, and help them improve their security maturity to ensure DISP membership attainment and ongoing compliance. 

 

The role will entail security policy and procedure development, training package development and delivery, security risk assessments, as well as providing clients with expert security guidance and advice. Working closely with De Stefano & Co’s partners and key stakeholders in the Defence security ecosystem, the Security Advisor will be responsible for developing fit-for-purpose, value for money security solutions for defence industry.

• Good written, interpersonal and communication skills.

• High attention to detail.

• Strong project coordination/management skills and the ability to manage constantly changing priorities within expected timeframes.

• Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

• High level of emotional intelligence and ability to meet with and persuade people at all levels.

• Ability to work in a team and wear multiple hats.

• Certificate or Diploma in Security or related discipline. 

• Awareness of the ACSC Essential Eight.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

• Ability to hold an NV1 security clearance. 

• A commitment to continuous professional developmental life-long learning.

Desirable skills / attributes

​

• Degree in a technical discipline such as engineering, project management or IT.

• Cyber security awareness and/or qualifications.

• Security Clearance (Baseline or above).

• Understanding of defence sector ecosystem.
